Of beautiful Darwin…

And of Mentoring on Vivace (:

First week of school has just gone by like that. But I had amazing fun meeting up with everyone again, like the SOS, Mentoring and Uni-Y peeps (: It feels nice to see everyone in school, rushing for classes and all.. but I dread the presentations and projects =x

I went back to TCC to work yesterday night. Got my pay! :D More than what I expected. But that’s not the main point. I found out that my favourite supervisor Bernard will be leaving next month!!! :( Very, very saddening. Everyone is leaving… :( But I think I’m going to quit soon too, although working is fun it’s going to affect my studies. Moreover I have CCA commitments now. So, I shall leave around the same time as my fave supervisor. =x Anyway my contract ends by then…

Anyway it’s dearest WENDY’s 20TH birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEARIE!!! :D Thanks for being such a GREAT pal, I really cannot imagine life without ya (:

Aww, time to read through some MA because I know I won’t have time tonight or tomorrow to do it… heh.

This part of me you’ll never know
The only thing I’ll never show
Hopelessly, I’ll love you endlessly
Hopelessly, I’ll give you everything
But I won’t give you up
I won’t let you down
And I won’t leave you falling
If the moment ever comes

It’s plain to see it’s trying to speak
Cherished dreams forever asleep
Hopelessly, I’ll love you endlessly
Hopelessly, I’ll give you everything
But I won’t give you up
I won’t let you down
And I won’t leave you falling
If the moment ever comes

Of Summer 2008..

August 7, 2008

I had the time of my life.

Met so many new people, had so much fun, laughter, tears, new experiences, new places, new emotions.. but ultimately, I gained so much. Thank God for everything.

Korea BSM. A super fun and enriching experience. Met so many new people, especially our BSM gang XT, Shannon, Evie, Jenny… A memory always etched in my heart. (:

Y Nature Walk. If not for this, I would not have met Dan, who wld not hv intro-ed me to all his crappy friends LOL. But Y Nature Walk was a very good experience, meeting up with all the Y Camp Challenge ppl again was nostalgic as well hee.

Project Summer on Sand. FUN FUN FUN. Although the sales sessions were torturous, but I really made alot of good friends during this project whom I think will last a long long long time (: Like Weijie, Jiaqing, Shiyan, See Kit, Caroline, Xander, Stephanie, Shiying, Minli and so many more.. very nice people!! :D

TCC. What can I say? The people there are so very fun.. esp. Bernard, Amy, Keat, Nas, Gordon, Gelvin.. (:

Mentoring. I looooove my Exco!! They are such efficient and helpful people. (: Adam, Xiaoting, Lizhen, and Baoqin our MENTOR haha.. May we bring Mentoring to greater heights!

Uni-Y My Picture Project. Met a number of freshies as well as very nice non-freshies such as the Hulk Pui Seng, Daniel (why are there so many Daniels around haha), Kevin, Timothy.. :D

Yeap and so that was how I spent my summer, and now I’m going over to Aussie for 9 days before school starts.. will be back on the 16th. Hope its going to be a fun fun fun trip! :D The itenary looks really good, thanks to Tim!! See ya’ll on the 16th evening (:

I will miss SOS

July 27, 2008

Awww Project SOS is over!!! SO SAD. But had GREAT FUN yesterday at ECP Castle Beach although was super busy running around taking pictures.. but it was still very fun! Made many new friends during this project (:

But when I dropped by the Castle Beach today, THE WHOLE THING WAS GONEEEEEE. :’( Damn sad, really sad. It’s been only one day and everything has been smashed to piles to sand. Oh well. At least we have pictures to keep the memories in our hearts…

The documentation team: videographer Mingjie and photographer me posing with our equip! haha :D

Me and Weijie stepping in as facis for Group8 because their facis couldn’t make it that day (haha only the sos peeps know why I’m so happy ^^)

The lovely SOS peeps. (: Okay, next up: SOS post-celebration! whee..

All peektures will be up at my picasa album, and facebook as well… :D

Build a Castle, Build a Dream!

Crrrrazy day.

July 20, 2008

Now is 5.10am in the morning and I just got home. It’s been a crazy day, yet I’m not tired.

Went for the PL musical, The Father’s Gift in the noon with my dearest Wendy and Lydia. Even Lydia’s dad calls us the three musketeers haha. Anyway Lydia’s sister as the KING was fantastic! Super hilarious (: And it was so nice meeting teachers like Mr Tang, Mrs Chong, Ms Ho.. even though they don’t seem to recognize me -.- I guess I really changed alot. And also bumped into Cipei and my long time no see jie Michelle! :D

Then rushed down to meet the peeps at Rocher Tau Huey -.- After that was gaming at MINDS because there was no more tix for Dark Knight at orchard area! It was quite funny actually the games… because they are so mindless =x

And around 9pm went down to the National Museum for Nightfest (: It was quite beautiful the sight of dancing in the air and the beautifully painted HUGE balloons. Lovely lovely music too (:

After that rushed all the way to Pasir Ris for Masz’s wedding! The place looked very very pretty!! And it was so funny chatting with my TCC colleagues. (: Love love all of them.. And Gelvin even lent me $50 for the cab ride to AMK. Awww.

Yup, then suddenly Benny messaged about watching Dark Knight at 130am.. So, after hanging around with the TCC peeps for awhile, cabbed down to AMK Hub to catch Dark Knight. The cab driver drove SUPER DUPER FAST. Like, 15mins and I’ve reached AMK. I like this kinda cab drivers…. lol.

Dark Knight was VERY GOOD. Disturbing and long, but good. Worth the moneyy heh. But felt so bad making them stay up until so late. Oh wells.. Now I’m home, and doing my bible study homework heh. No need to sleep already…… But really thanks alot guys for everything! (:

Anyway Muscle Museum is my MUSEEEEE now. And my ringtone ;) haha.

On life now..

July 1, 2008

I’m not exactly LOVING life now, although its the holidays; but I feel as though I’m going through a new phase. Now I feel the need to be saving up money for my future, and not to simply spend spend spend like my other holidays. Of course, if I weren’t working these two crazy part-time jobs (and not exactly fun I must admit), I’m sure I’ll be loving life much more than now. I reminisce my previous slack admin job at CGH where the people are so nice and kind to me, and the meaningful camps I’ve gone through (like Y Camp! (:), and I can’t help but compare those times with what I’m going through now… It’s really different.

At TCC, I finally see how some people can be so double-faced. I really appreciate the rest of the peeps there, but I really can’t stand 1 or 2 of them. Gelvin was asking me whether I had other jobs before and I mentioned the CGH one, and then he started complaining to the other peeps that I enjoy the other job more than this TCC job although I didn’t say that at all…

But what struck me was that what he said was actually true.

Although the people at CGH were much older than me and there is definitely generation gap between me and them, but they were so genuine and nice… it is definitely less stressful there than in TCC. And I admit, the peeps at TCC are kinda bad influence, although they can be fun and all.

I guess, this is the real world huh.

On to the other job,

I’m so glad to have such a motherly supervisor for MOM. Although I’m severely below quota, she still treats me so nice I feel so guilty =x But I’m starting to feel tired for this job, it is not exactly likeable especially the personal home visits. You go all the way down and visit so many houses but they are either not in or refuse to do the survey or don’t understand you or JUST DON’T OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR… and it gets on your nerves lol. But I realised that the people from Marine Drive flats are very friendly to each other, and they know their neighbours pretty well which is very nice… And the flats have VERY NICE scenery views!!! Esp. the higher storeys.

They even have a view of the sea?!!

View in the evening (shows how long I’ve been out doing house visits)

And on to happier things,

Siti and I celebrated Hoying’s birthday at this small but really nice Egyptian restaurant in Arab Street. Gosh, I’m already missing the food there as I look through the pictures… Yum. And we bought her a bag too! Hoying, use it often alright?? :D

The lamb khish

The delicious potato wedges

Shucks I forgot the name of this dish, but its brinjal with chick peas served with pita bread. It’s super good (:

Plus the irritatingly cute cat which jumped onto our table and almost ate our food. (eh it moved when I wanted to take a picture of it)

AND on to the HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK…

SPAIN WON EURO 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super proud of them… after 44 years, they finally won! :D And they SO deserved it, they were darn good last night. I know Germany fans are still pissed or sad… but Germany really played poorly yesterday, that’s a true FACT and please get over it… I’m sick of people dissing Spain already. I can’t wait for World Cup 2010 (:

Anyway here’s my TORRES :D

I LOVE HIS ELVISH TATTOO… FELLOW HARDCORE LOTR FAN! (makes me love him even more) :D

But Guiza stole his trademark pose already lol. Oh well, time to find another pose…

Anyway sandcastle training is pretty fun, I’m finally doing my proper job as documentation subcomm =x If you want to see some pictures that I’ve taken you can take a look here:

28.6.08 SANDCASTLE TRAINING

Y Nature Walk was fun! Although a ‘lil short. I was photographer again, haha. Seems like ever since I was photographer for Dec ‘07 Y Camp Challenge, I’m stuck at that role. But nevertheless, I was so happy and excited to see familiar peeps from Y Camp! :D Miss them so much. And surprised to see some SM/U peeps whom I know who went for the walk too (: Wah zhen hao xin!! But I’m really glad I joined Uni-Y and YMCA. At least now my life has more meaning than simply studies and work. Too bad I’m really busy working this June and July, or else I’d join June ‘08 Y Camp. Never mind! There’s always December’s. (: When Eileen saw me today, she bombed me with questions because I didn’t reply her emails about the camp.. I’m so sorry!! =x But she’s still as bubbly as ever. Enjoy your Korea trip in July!!! :D

And the pictures above are of the JELLY CAKES that Hoying and I baked at my house on Friday! LOL. Do they look appetizing? But the jelly was quite a flop ‘cos it didn’t stick to the cakes as it should. But the cakes are delicious! (Without the jelly and coconut that is, haha)

Hmm the taste turned out quite subjective. My bro said it was nice, Hoying’s dad said it was so-so, and her bro said it doesn’t taste like anything he has eaten before. So in conclusion, there’s no clear verdict. LOL.

Anyway last Wed and Thur was packed with MOM trainings. And there’ll be TCC training next Tue, and MOM Cati training next Wed. And Wed evening we’re having steamboat yum! But urgh, why so many trainings!!! And there’s Korea BSM report and learning journal to worry about too. Oh no… deadline’s next Saturday! =/

Oh yah, if you guys are interested, you can see more photos of my Korea BSM trip here. Enjoy!

Korea Love!

Yay I’m meeting with the Korea BSM gang tomorrow for dinner! And hopefully Wendy and Lydia for lunch :D

Suffocated with activities this week, and weeks to come.

2 part-time jobs to save up money for Aussie Darwin trip in August. One for Ministry of Manpower, doing an employment survey job which pays pretty well; and the other for TCC. Hope these jobs are fun! Actually I value the experience more than the money, but I agree money is one of the motivations too…

MOM trainings this Wed and Thur (whole day), and TCC training next Tues. So many job trainings!

Uni-Y subcomm activities, especially Y-Nature walk this coming Sat 830am-1pm.

Project Summer on Sand documentation committee, and the Sales and Training sessions. One sales session tomorrow, 11am – 9pm. Sandcastle training this Sat right after my Y-Nature walk, 330-7pm.

Korea BSM group report and learning journal, yet to be done but due soon, 7th June.

Oh dear. =/

Anyway on a lighter note, some pictures of the last cycling trip at ECP! (:

We cycled to Changi.. haha

The group of us (sunburnt! ok la, only me sunburnt) chilling at Macs (:

Just some of the more free-er times during the hols.. =/ Time please please slow down…

Korea love!

May 19, 2008

Although I just reached Singapore yesterday night…

I miss Korea already :(

I miss

the strawberry milk

dukbolgi (spicy rice cake) suppers

playing cards in each other’s rooms ’till 5am and then having to get up at 8am the next morning

the crazy no. of times we snooze our alarms before finally waking up 1 hour later than the alarm time

the laughters and jokes (esp over our photos and very standard and trademark poses LOL)

singing songs with XT (one coin clink clink, two coins clink clink and my favourite muneeru valiba. I still can’t believe I remember the whole lyrics to this tamil song lol)

pretending to be superman at 63 Tower

the mad night shopping until we know each other’s taste in fashion

saying pissayo pissayo (expensive, expensive) to every store owner

illegally squeezing 5 of us into taxis and struggling to explain the directions to the driver

trying to talk Korean but cannot make it because they will reply in Korean and we’ll still be clueless

and the WEATHER!!! Although it’s a little too cold for my liking, it beats S’pore’s hot and wet weather anytime heh.

Sigh. But I had a really, really WONDERFUL time.. thanks to my dearest roomie XT, Evie, Jenny and Shannon. (: They are really the BEST bunch! Without them this trip would be a completely different one. Ah, words cannot do this trip justice at all..

And since there are just too many photos (we are seriously camwhores), so here are some of my favourite shots! I’ll be uploading the rest in my picasa album (: But I think that’ll take a month’s worth of editing or something, ha.

So here goes! The photos are all randomly arranged btw, enjoy (:

Our Korea BSM Group picture!

Here are my FAVOURITE peeps in this trip!!

From left: Jenny, Evelyn, Xiaoting, Me, Shannon! :D

Posing with some young policemen (Korean guys cannot make it, seriously =/)

Us with our Korean Prof Yoo!

And these are my project groupmates! (: From left: Me, Geraldine, XT, Lixian

Don’t you just loooove this view of Jeju island??

Sunrise Peak! (we climbed 580 steps to the top and then another 580 down. So now we’re all lying about on the grass with jelly legs)

I really like this photo (: I like grassy photos haha

Overexposed picture, but still nice! (:

Cheonggyecheon Stream, they were having a festival which explains the colourful lanterns behind us!

Tall, tall ice cream! (:

L.O.V.E at Nam-I Island (Winter Sonata shooting place)

We really love Nam-I Island!

Eh, me and Prof Yoo doing the Winter Sonata pose (it was his idea!! look like bae yong jun not HAHAHA)

And now leaving you with the BEST picture ever taken, requires great photography skills ok…

Here’s the SMU KOREA BSM JUMP!

LOL I really think this photo is hilarious with the two Profs jumping in front =p

Awww.. now I miss Korea more than ever =/

Lovin’ Life

Then last week we went back to PL! The school is really pretty now… I’m so bummed. We raised all those fund money for the new school, but we don’t get the chance to use the new facilities at all -.-

They have all these cool illustrations on the wall.. Nice, now you can revise for your exam while waiting outside the classroom..

The nice basketball court, with a tennis ball stuck in the middle of the fence.

Anyway we bumped into Mrs Chong and Ms Wong Gim Leng! But so sad, Mrs Chong doesn’t seem to recognize me anymore =/

And these are the happening peeps whom I’m spending most of my nights with for supper and movies and lepak-ing at Mt. Faber etc… haha Don our chauffeur, Tim, Huiqi and Belle. Love them! (:
